Who am I? That is a good question and one that is always growing and changing!  I grew up in Centre County, running through streams and across fields in a rural community.  My father was a professor at Penn State so I had the benefit of exposure to worlds outside of our community, traveling throughout the U.S. and also in Europe.  After college, I moved to Colorado and enjoyed my Rocky Mountain experience for several years. 

Ultimately, Happy Valley drew me back, and I am glad that it did.  I enjoy the balance of quality living in an active community, the close proximity of farmland, mountains and outdoor activities, and the ability to reach several large cities in a matter of a few hours or less.  It is a fabulous place to grow and live. Penn State students spent this past weekend moving back to Happy Valley. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, it has been quite a different process than normal.  The Borough of State College, where Penn State University calls home, has a masking ordinance in place that will be enforced.

This year for Penn State students will be a different atmosphere than before. As students return, Penn State and the borough have established rules for wearing face masks, social distancing and have limited gatherings in an effort to prevent spread of the coronavirus. This will limit all sporting events and social events that have been a huge part of the Penn State Community.

Penn State offers two separately accredited law schools: Penn State Law, located on the University Park campus; and Penn State Dickinson Law, located just under two hours from State College and Centre County in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Both programs trace their roots to the founding of The Dickinson Law School in Carlisle. Established in 1834, the original program was opened by Judge John Reed at Dickinson College. In 1890, the program received an independent charter, and in 1917 ended all affiliation with that college.

If you’re considering a four-year baccalaureate degree from Penn State, you might have a hard time choosing which program to study. With 12 academic colleges and more than 275 majors to choose from at the University Park campus in State College, students have a wealth of options.

From the sciences to the liberal arts, there’s an academic college for every interest. Within each college, a multitude of majors are offered.
